The Opportunity
Based on the Central Coast and successfully operating in the specialist field of construction/overhaul and maintenance of utility and industrial plant and equipment for over 30 years, our client, HIS Engineering Services is seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated person to enhance their operation through managing all existing customer relationships and projects whilst expanding the service offering to new customers and new industries.

Providing specialist services, predominantly to the power, sugar, and petrochemical industries, to prominent customers in these fields from Queensland to Victoria, HIS has weathered the uncertainty and impact of changing market conditions and COVID related obstacles and now seeks to capitalise on its strong reputation by appointing a capable Business Development Manager/Project Manager to identify and secure ongoing work into the future whilst liaising with clients on existing projects.

With clients spread across the Eastern Seaboard, this role will require interstate travel to meet customers and oversee project completion of existing work as well as scoping and estimating new project work on site. A combination of experience estimating project costs of similar size and complexity as well as stakeholder relationship and project management skills to ensure smooth delivery to meet expectations is required from the successful person.

HIS Engineering provides a range of contract services to repeat and new customers, specifically in the areas of boiler rehabilitation and associated plant including economisers, condensers, ducts, burners, air heaters, pipework, structural steelwork, insulation, refractory as well as general mechanical engineering.

Your Skills and Experience
With a diverse role encompassing business development, project, and people management, estimating, and submitting tenders for new work, you will likely be an experienced person with decades of understanding of the technical requirements for the specific work mentioned above as well as the industry knowledge in construction and scheduled maintenance. Demonstrated effective use of project-based software, electronic tender submission platforms, and the ability to prepare budgets and job costing reports is also required. 

Likely to come from a trade background (Boilermaker or similar) and moving through roles in your career such as Site Supervisor, Site Manager, Construction Manager, Contract Manager or Project Manager you will draw upon these experiences to bring maturity and expertise when consulting with clients, new and existing.
